In 2022, he obtained PhD. from Tokyo Institute of Technology. Since then, he has been serving as a Researcher and Manager at SenseTime, where he led the development of computer vision and generative models in the field of autonomous driving. Additionally, as the inventor of deep learning-based lensless camera, he has presented researches in top academic journals and conferences, and founded the startup developing lensless camera products, earning numerous awards. He has been interviewed by various media outlets such as WIRED and Nikkei, recognized as a pioneer in AI optics in Japan.
In 1990, he obtained a Master's degree in Science from Tokyo Institute of Technology, and the same year, he joined Sony Corporation, where he served as a research leader in quantum optics, wave optics, and medical optics. He contributed to inventions such as the patent for quantum dot LED displays. From 1996 to 1997, he worked as a visiting researcher at Brown University in the United States. In 2019, he joined Huawei Technologies Japan Co., Ltd., serving as Chief Expert, focusing on the technical strategy. He earned PhD. from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2021.
